Two Things

It’s always beneficial when things are kept simple; like having one or two things to remember versus having ten things to remember.

The scriptures seem to keep things simple as we see.

Proverbs 22:11 He who loves purity of heart, and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend. (ESV)

Notice there are “two things” that bring us the favour necessary to be fruitful in our relationships and life.

Those two things are purity of heart and gracious words. Here some thoughts about these two things.

  • We’re told to “love” purity of heart.

  • Only people who love it, will have the real thing.

  • In other words, purity of heart can’t be faked.

  • A person who loves purity of heart is honest from the core.

  • Gracious words flow out of people who have pure hearts and Godly wisdom.

Here are two hindrances to purity of heart:

  • Hidden agendas

  • Self-ambition

The end result of loving purity of heart is a flow of gracious words and favour from people in high places. (Having the king as a friend)

Favour isn’t earned by deception, but it’s given by God to people who love purity of heart.

Thank the Lord we’re born of Him and supernaturally empowered to be honest and transparent.

Every blessing to each of you,

Tony
