People are honoured for a variety of reasons. There are honours that come from sports, from studies, from inventions, from acting, and on and on.
God honours us for something we’ve not seen on the news or television.
Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarrelling. (ESV)
Yes, God is giving out awards for those who keep away from strife.
Here are some thoughts about what God honours.
God doesn’t have a very high opinion of strife.
God calls people who participate in strife fools.
Why is He so strongly against strife?
Because strife is the opposite of unity and unity is what builds His Kingdom and makes a place for the anointing to flow.
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
Psalm 133:2 It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes!
Psalm 133:3 It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. (ESV)
One way to receive honour from God is to stay out of strife. It not only honours Him, but it makes a place for His presence and glory to dwell.
In His presence are things we need like healings and miracles.
