It’s always good to know the “why” as much as the “what, how, and when” of something.
The Lord is patient, and we see one reason “why” He is patient.
2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. (ESV)
One reason “why” the Lord is patient is “for” the harvest. Here are some thoughts about why He is patient.
The only thing delaying the second coming of Jesus is His waiting for the end time harvest to be reaped.
God’s love for man and the shed blood of His Son are reason enough for the delay of His coming.
Is there a particular way we could look at the delay of His coming?
2 Peter 3:15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, (ESV)
Yes, there is…we can look at it as awaiting for more souls to come into the kingdom.
James 5:7 Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it until it receives the early and the late rains.
Let’s continue to pray for the salvation of lost people.
Every blessing to each of you,
