All

The word “all” is a wonderful word in that it is inclusive. Anytime it is used, even the simplest of people understand that it means “all”.

I like how in various places in the scriptures, the word “all” is emphasized.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

Here are some thoughts about “all” regarding the Holy Spirit:

  • In the Old Testament, if someone desired to hear from God they had to go to a prophet.

  • The prophet in the Old Testament was anointed to speak on God’s behalf and he had the Spirit of God to accomplish his duties.

  • In the New Testament, everyone who calls Jesus Lord is baptized into the same body and filled by the same spirit.

We could say that few had God’s Spirit in the Old Testament whereas “all” have God’s Spirit in the New Testament.

Because of this fact the body of Christ has many who can minister the Gospel of reconciliation.

1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. (ESV)

Each of us have a designated place in the world where we can touch those around us with the life and truth of the Gospel.

Let’s all be very aware of the anointing of God on us to break yokes of bondage on those around us.

Every blessing to each of you,

Tony
