People have sought after treasures and jewels since the beginning of time. Gold, minerals, and costly stones have caused people to pack up their things to seek after fortunes.
When considering the massive population of the world, only a small percentage pay the above price to find the precious jewels and treasure mentioned in Proverbs.
Proverbs 20:15 There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
Here are a few thoughts about lips that speak knowledge:
There is a knowledge that is more valuable than gold and costly stones.
That knowledge is heavenly or Godly knowledge.
It is every Christian’s privilege and responsibility to train their lips to speak God’s knowledge and not the lower knowledge of the world.
A Christian who has trained lips has valuable lips.
1 Kings 4:34 And people of all nations came to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom. (ESV)
One last important thought:
· When we talk like the world we have what the world has.
· When we talk in line with God’s knowledge we have what God says we have.
Let’s all be aware of how valuable our lips can be when trained to speak God’s wisdom above all else.
