Don’t Change a Thing

Tweaking and changing things is important in some areas of our lives. Yet, there are beliefs and ways of our Christian walk that should never change or be tweaked.

In other words, the way we started is the way we continue, with no need to change a thing.

Galatians 3:2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?

Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? (ESV)

Here are some thoughts about not changing a thing:

  • God’s Holy Spirit has been given to us free of charge.

  • The way we received His Spirit was hearing something and responding to what we heard.

  • We didn’t have to work for His Spirit, but simply by faith receive His Spirit.

  • Once we are Christians, nothing changes when it comes to receiving the things Jesus bought and paid for.

  • If we started by grace through faith, we continue by grace through faith.

While on the earth Jesus told the Jews their spiritual responsibilities were going to change. Instead of the many works required by the law they now needed to focus on one thing.

John 6:29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (ESV)

Let’s not change a thing, let’s continue the way we started.

Every blessing to each of you,

Tony
