God is the beginning of everything. He even gave us the book of Genesis, which could be called the book of beginnings. We have plenty of proof that God is the beginning and the end of everything.
He is the creator, He is all knowing, He is all powerful, and we could on and on and on…
God is the first in setting protocol, plus He is the first that introduced true order, beginning with creation. Notice how He set an order in the below scriptures.
Psa. 119:18 Open my eyes, THAT I may behold wondrous things out of your law. (ESV)
Psalm 119:32 I will run in the way of your commandments WHEN you enlarge my heart! (ESV)
Psalm 119:32 I will pursue your commands, FOR you expand my understanding. (NLT)
Psalm 119:32 I run along the path of your commands, FOR you enable me to do so. (NET)
Notice that everything we do is a result of something He has done “first”. Here are some thoughts about “first things first”.
Our Father has always moved toward us so we can respond back to Him.
Notice the things He FIRST does in the above scriptures; open our eyes, enlarge our hearts, expand our understanding, enable us.
Because God FIRST bestows the things necessary for us to walk in Him, Christianity shouldn’t be heavy and difficult.
Let’s remember, to keep first things first.
